The Neptunes' Pharrell Williams has joined forces with comedic actors Russell Brand and Steve Carrell for the upcoming 3D movie cartoon, Despicable Me.

According to reports, Pharrell will take control behind-the-scenes.

Singer, songwriter, producer Pharrell Williams will write original music for Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment's upcoming 3D CGI feature "Despicable Me" starring Steve Carrell, Jason Segel, Russell Brand, Danny McBridge, Julie Andrews and more. The producer/rapper has released a statement confirming his participation.

One of the film's producers also spoke on Pharrell's involvement.

"Pharrell is one of the most important contemporary songwriters, Hans is one of the truly great film composers and Heitor is the next generation of Hans' proteges. This is an extraordinary teaming of talent," said the film's producer Chris Meledandri. "With every note they write, our film is being enriched." (Consequence Of Sound)
