New York City radio veteran Funkmaster Flex has taken some time out to reflect on his view of the biggest hip-hop events and incidents of 2009.

Writing on his Twitter page New Year's Eve, Flex highlighted what events have caught his attention.

"Christina millian has played herself as well.. When dream kicks her to the curb... I'm going to seek and detroy.," Flex wrote. "What about rkelly dropping that brick album.. "Mr touchy feely" crazy that this is allowed...Russel made kamora.. Then you get with a corn ball n*gga and pop out a kid like its groovy... Aint sh*t groovy. I peeped it!!! It was wack...No dissrespect but solange knoles is never going to pop (sell records) Beyonce shouldn't have to carrry all that dead weight.. No dissrespect but kelly rolland is not going to pop also! Kellis played herself too!!! She's crazy for sh*tiing on nas. She was finished before nas gave her a life. What was she thinking...B*tch just because you f*cked joe buddens and was in the 50 video doesn't make you a celeb (buddens gave you a life) There is no new era hat that can fit rihanna ... No way!!! No dissrespect but beenie sigel dissing jayz didn't work at all...No dissrespect tpain dissing jayz didn't work at all!!! Lil wayne baby mammas is crazy!!When they decide to get upset.. They all getting tv shows!!!" (Funkmaster Flex's Twitter)
Last month, Flex aired out his thoughts to Beanie Sigel and Jay-Z's conflict.

"It's a hard position," Flex said in an interview, "[but] I think Jay should've let Sigel go in the first inkling that he wanted to be someplace else. I do agree with Jay-Z with something. He did allow Sigel every opportunity with the clothing line, record label and his record deal. And I don't think Sigel did anything wrong, but the game changed to where it wasn't profitable anymore with labels. The clothing business wasn't doing what it was doing. I don't know if he didn't do something or if the game just changed, because there were a lot of people with clothing lines. Jay's not gonna respond, he don't have to. He's the richest rapper and he just dropped a hot rock album. Let's keep it 100, T-Pain, I love T-Pain, I love T-Pain. I love Sigel. I love a lot of the artists that are out there and ain't nobody saying this album is wack." (XXL Mag)
He made headlines last summer after threatening to boycott Interscope Records artists from his radio show.

"Let me tell you something Nino, New York I'm talking to a person who makes decisions, who does things up there moving funny style," Flex said on his radio show about an Interscope employee. "Interscope Records, nothin' is spinning...50, from what I hear, your deal is up at Interscope, we got you. I'd walk out that building after that...That Eminem album is coming Interscope, I take pride in how I'm gonna do this movement...Unfortunately, we're not gonna be able to play those Eminem and Dr. Dre records and I'm so sorry this is the way this has to go down with this guy's album coming. I want us all to be friends, but Nino is not a friend of ours. I will go on with this, Nino, you got 24 hours to fix yourself or this goes some place else, tomorrow...Nino is the only one I'm letting off today, tomorrow I'm teeing off on the whole team." (Hot 97)
The popular deejay has been in the music industry for nearly two decades.

Throughout the 1990s he reigned over New York's mammoth rap scene, capable of making or breaking artists with his high-profile position at the top-rated radio station in America's top radio market, Hot 97. By the mid-'90s, he was also the weekly DJ at one of New York's top clubs, the Tunnel, and also had his radio show broadcasting on Los Angeles' Power 106, America's second largest radio market.
