DX News Bits: Kid Sister, Alicia Keys

Chicago artist Kid Sister has followed in the same footsteps as Murs and Mark Ronson in joining peta2, the youth division for PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals).
“I don't wear fur, I don't want fur. It is absolutely possible to be fashionable without fur,” she told peta2.com. “Beyond being cruel I think it's just kind of gross. Just the thought of like, it used to be on a cuddly little...ugh! So, it was kind of a no brainer.”
An owner of dogs since she was younger, Kid Sister explained, “The best dogs are mixed breed dogs, let me tell you. And that's just not just 'cause I'm mixed!"
Kid Sister’s debut album Ultraviolet is in stores now.
In other news, Billboardlive.com will be streaming Alicia Key’s concert at New York’s famed Apollo Theatre on Thursday, January 7.
Viewers will be able to access the live footage by downloading Microsoft Silverlight and OWL HD Player free of charge the night of the concert. The show begins at 9:00 p.m. EST.
