Bad Boy Records CEO Diddy has given Southern rapper Rick Ross a large co-sign by comparing his rhyming skills to the late Biggie Smalls.

Speaking in a video from their "Angels" remix video shoot, Diddy explained why he saw a version of B.I.G. in Ross.

"Oh y'all ain't hear the second verse," Diddy said about Ross' 'Angels' collaboration. "Yo, y'all gonna peep that when we world premiere that. I don't know, I guess him and Biggie locked up in the room, even my man Hen Roc even said that. For my man Hen Roc to say that and co-sign it like 'Yo, my man right there sounding like our homie.' That right there is something special. That's a mean co-sign, that's a mean co-sign. I don't know what was going on in the studio, the spirits were connecting but it's official. It ain't bootleg, it ain't got no preservatives in it." (Spliff TV)
Diddy revealed his video shoot details with Ross through Twitter last week.

"Shooting angels remix video with rick ross! DMC!!!!!!," he wrote Monday (December 28). "Still shooting angels remix with rick ross in miami! He did a second verse just for video!!! Thisis day 2! Don't stop!" (Diddy's Twitter)
Justice League producer Colione previously spoke on using Biggie Smalls as Ross inspiration.

"We actually went to the theaters and saw the Notorious [film]," he explained. "When we got home, we were inspired to work with B.I.G. So we started making tracks for him and 'Magnificent' was one of the beats that came out. We were like, 'Yo, if Biggie was alive today what would he rap to?' We were actually doing it for ourselves. Actually, our management sent that to Ross...We came up with the first 'Maybach Music.' He heard the actual track at the crib and he had a whole idea in his head like, 'Yo, I'm going to name this 'Maybach Music' and I'm going get Jay-Z on this. This going to be big!' So after that, you know, we just been working with him and supplying him some beats and he's really been studying music and his lyrics are getting better. His whole aura, I mean, he's going to be like unstoppable." (Vibe)
Diddy played a large role in the production of last year's Notorious film based on Biggie's life.

"It deserves to be honored at the Academy Awards," he said in a video earlier this year. "I've seen everything that was honored this year. From The Wrestler to Slumdog Millionaire. This joint right here, to me, is greater than those, I'm not gonna lie," Diddy said. "It's a whole year from now, but remember this movie. It would be a tragedy if you don't get this movie some jewelery and respect." (Diddy Confessional Part 4)
