by Slava Kuperstein

DMX is back behind bars, as the troubled emcee has turned himself in to the Los Angeles Metropolitan Courthouse on Monday (July 26) afternoon.

The rapper has begun serving a 90-day sentence stemming from a 2002 reckless driving charge, reports MTV News.

Though his lawyer, Aja Southern, says that DMX's other legal troubles postponed the L.A. sentence, TMZ reports that the Ruff Ryder violated the terms of his parole of his parole regarding the case.

Whether X truly violated the terms of his parole has yet to be confirmed; however, his lawyer offered an explanation for the rapper turning himself in. "Mr. Simmons is here today to fully cooperate with respect to any matters of the Court's concern," explained Southern in a written statement. "This is one of many steps towards rebuilding his image and rapport with the community and his loyal fans."

DMX And Tashera Simmons Are Officially Separated

by Danielle Harling

DMX’s wife Tashera Simmons is officially moving past the rapper and on to bigger things. AllHipHop.com reports that Simmons has both a reality television show and a memoir in the works.

Simmons’ reality show, which has yet to be picked up by a network, will focus on how the family has dealt with DMX’s various legal and drug issues. The show will be titled Tashera Simmons….Life After X.

As far as Simmons’ memoir is concerned it will be co-authored by Aliya S. King and will detail Simmons’ life from childhood to adulthood. The memoir will of course touch on her relationship with DMX.

“I think reading my book, it explains everything,” Simmons explained to AllHipHop.com. “I’m talking about everything, from my childhood when I was abandoned by my mother and left to take care of my siblings, to when me and Earl (DMX) first met at 11 and we got together at 18 and I’m starting from there until then on…It’s a positive tell all."

There is no word yet on when Simmons’ memoir is expected to be released.

Lil' Kim & DMX Perform Together On Stage In Arizona

Lil' Kim & DMX Perform Together On Stage In Arizona

July 19, 2010 08:48:00 AM CDT

by Allen Jacobs

Two superstars of the 1990s, Lil' Kim and DMX, made a rare performance together this past weekend in Scottsdale, Arizona. Kim is presently touring, while X, who now lives in Arizona, appeared to do "Money, Power, Respect." The two worked together in one of the hits from the 1998 platinum album from The L.O.X. of the same name.

Both artists are presently plotting a comeback, as DMX is reportedly recording, and rumors have circulated that Kim may end up on Jay-Z's Roc Nation imprint. The former Junior M.A.F.I.A. emcee and model has yet to confirm that signing, though she's addressed that rumor. "There are a lot of offers on the table right now. It's not a done deal," she told The Chicago Tribune last month.

Fans can watch fan-submitted concert footage from the event at Rap-Up.com.

Written by Cyrus Langhorne

Troubled rapper Earl "DMX" Simmons' early release from an Arizona jail today has been confirmed by his criminal defense attorney.

The rapper was freed from behind bars after serving three quarters of a six-month sentence.

DMX is finally out of the dog house. XXLMag.com has learned that the troubled rapper, born Earl Simmons, was freed from an Arizona jail today (July 6). X's criminal defense attorney, Glenn Allen, confirmed with XXL that the Yonkers-bred MC was released after serving four months of a six-month sentence. As previously reported, the Yonkers MC was locked up on March 9 for for five counts of violating his probation, all of which were related to cocaine abuse. The Ruff Ryder was on probation for throwing a food tray at an officer while locked up on drug, theft and animal abuse charges last year. (XXL Mag)

Yesterday, X's producer Dame Grease said he would be a free man today.

Guess who's coming home? According to producer Dame Grease,DMX will be released from jail tomorrow after violating his probation back in March. Let's hope that Dark Man X can get his life together, and drop something decent for his loyal fans. First off, he's got to kick that habit of his. (Y2K Daily)

Writing via Twitter last March, rapper Game said his LAX collaborator still had his support.

"This my only tweet for 2day" Game wrote Tuesday (March 23) afternoon. "DMX is MY N!GGA & nobody or NO MEDIA or NO N!GGA nor B!TCH can ever change that !!! GO listen to "Slippin" !!!" (Game's Twitter)

The rapper was sentenced to six months behind bars after violating the terms of his probation in March.

DMX was just sentenced to six months in jail for violating his probation -- but rehab could save him from doing hard time. DMX admitted to five separate probation violations -- the result of using illegal drugs. During the hearing, a rep from the Pasadena Recovery Center gave the judge a letter from Dr. Drew Pinsky, asking permission to treat X at his facility ... in lieu of jail. The judge seemed open to sending X to the PRC. (TMZ)
