Southern rapper Young Jeezy defends the decision to delay his upcoming Thug Motivation 103 album through late September in the new XXL Magazine.

Within his cover feature, Jeezy says he did not want to rush any material just to satisfy a deadline.

"I'm doin' what any n*gga would do on his fourth album," Jeezy says. "I'm gettin' it together. I'm not just gon' give you anything, to be hot and relevant. That don't make sense. That's like telling a muthaf*cka anything just to get it done. I'ma be straight up with you, so when you walk away, even if you ain't satisfied, I kept it real. I kept it 100. And that's the way I feel. I wouldn't even call it the top of my game. I'm just really figuring out the music sh*t." (XXL Mag)

Prior to receiving a September 28th release, Jeezy's album was scheduled for late August.

Young Jeezy is motivated to get his album out by the end of summer. The rapper has set a new release date for his oft-delayed project. The Atlanta MC's fourth major label studio album Thug Motivation 103 is scheduled to drop on August 31, Rap-Up.com has learned. It has been delayed numerous times since last year, but looks to have finally found its footing. Two singles, "All White Everything" and the street anthem "Lose My Mind," have been sent to digital retailers and radio. (Rap-Up)

Producer Drumma Boy recently talked about working on Jeezy's new album.

"With Jeezy, it's funny because when it comes to the music, I already know what he wants," Drumma said in an interview. "We've never actually worked in the studio together. The first time I ever heard 'Put On' was on the radio. [Laughs] Just the other day, he called me as soon as I woke up. First call of the day. He was like, 'Where you at? I need to get some more music.' I'll give him the intersection I'm at and he'll just ride down right then, pick up a beat CD and keep it moving. It's like a real dope deal. I really got crack! [Laughs] All our joints come that way. Even with [the album's street single] 'Lose My Mind,' I didn't hear that until we mixed it. So I can't tell you exactly what I've got on there yet, but in addition to "Lose My Mind," I'm gonna have two of three other joints on the album." (VIBE)

Jeezy previously discussed what rap fans could expect to hear from the upcoming project earlier this year.

"But June, by the way," he said of the LP's release date. "That's what I'm thinking. If you the boss, you can talk like that. I'm thinking June. I wanna own the summer. If you coming out [with an album] in June, you might wanna think about that, bruh. TM103, I will be there...I'm just going in, basically handling my business. I gotta say what's on my mind. But I'm not here to sell you on no album. Like I said, June, you will be surprised, homie. That's real talk. I been working on this. I been back in the lab...I got you." (MTV)

The September XXL Magazine drops Tuesday, August 10th on newsstands.

Southern rapper Young Jeezy has announced plans to release his upcoming album Thug Motivation 103 this summer.

Jeezy recently explained how he snagged Plies for the project's first single, "Lose My Mind,".

"To keep it all the way 100 with you, we did a record called 'So Sad,' " Jeezy said about how he got with Plies. "Before I could put it out, the record leaked, so we was good on that. Then I was gonna do a record for him [for his album]. I did the record, by the way, but I had 'Lose My Mind.' I done three verses. I listened to it a couple of times. I said, 'Let me try something. I'mma put somebody on the record.' I was doing a joint for him at the time and happened to see him. We was doing something for [NBA] All-Star [Weekend]. I was like, 'Yo, I'mma get you this record, see if you like it.' He sent it right back. I went with it. Just to warm up the streets, let them know I'm coming." Young said his album will drop sometime in June. And, of course, we'll get his mixtape, Trap or Die 2 with DJ Drama, sometime before that. (MTV)
Earlier this year, Jeezy said he had not yet settled on a release date for the new album.

"Oh man, sooner than later," Jeezy said about the album's release date last January. "I'm finishing up now, wrapping up now. I was just in the studio 15 minutes ago. Shout-outs to the homie Swizz [Beatz]. [We're] doing some of everything. You know Swizz will keep you up all night. [We did] like two and half [songs.] Look for the album asap." ("Ed Lover Show")
Reports last year suggested it would come out in February.

Word is this came from the back of a ticket for an All-American High School football game that will be held on January 2nd which Jeezy is scheduled to perform at half-time. "Jeezy TM103 in stores February 9th This ticket is a revocable license, which may be withdrawn, and admission refused anytime upon refunding the printed purchase price." (You Heard That New)
Last August, Jeezy updated fans on the record's status.

"I have some new producers I'm going to introduce to the world," Jeezy promised. "I like to set trends. I'm going to keep those names in the bag. I want it to be a big deal when you first hear them. There will be a few of the producers I worked from Thug Motivation 101 and The Recession such as Shawty Redd and Midnight Black. I'm just working, man. I'm not really picky when it comes to the production. I just like good music...I have the studio bus and the whole nine. I was already working on it, so I was where I wanted to be on the new album before I left. I recorded most of it at the crib in Atlanta. I'm just putting the icing on the cake, now. I'm going to do the rest on the road and just knock it out. The album will be out sooner than later...I'm going to take my time. That's what the label people tell me. "Yo, hurry up, but take your time, because we want that sh*t to be right.' Soon as my stuff jump off the stove I'm going to put it in the streets." (The Boom Box)
No further details have been released as of now.
