News: Nelly's Relative Murdered, "He Was Not My Bodyguard, He Was My Cousin & My Friend!"

Grammy-winning rapper Nelly's cousin, Michael Johnson, was murdered this week in Missouri after being fatally shot.
Based on reports, the murder took place on Wednesday (April 28).
A murder investigation is hitting close to home for St. Louis rap star, Nelly. Multiple sources close to Nelly tell News 11 the victim was one of Nelly's bodyguards. The victim is 36 year old Michale Johnson sources describe him as Nelly's left hand man, or someone who was by the rapper's side providing security. St. Louis county police responded to a home on Nola, near north Hanley Wednesday night just before midnight. Johnson was shot several times. (KDVR News)

A man who St. Louis hip-hop star Nelly referred to as his cousin (or, rather his "cuzzen") was killed Wednesday night outside a home in the 8000 block of Nola, near the intersection of N. Hanley and St. Charles Rock Road. Michael Johnson, 36, was shot multiple times while leaving or entering the home in unincorporated St. Louis County. Police have no suspects or motives for the crime. Nelly has since confirmed the reports and aired out a local news station for its false reporting.
"Contrary to some reports micheal johnson wasnt my bodyguard!he was my cuzzen and my friend!!I will always luv n miss u MJ!!!!!," he wrote late Thursday night. "Channel 2 stl don't Ever have 2worry about another interview from me or a stlunatic ever again!!There not invited 2any of my functions!! Earlier this month, Nelly confronted alleged groupie Kat Stacks in an interview.
"Sweetheart, all you have to tell me is what hotel did we f*ck in," Nelly said during a radio interview. "You have to tell me one that we've been f*cking around at for two months. Tell me one of them, please...I've been exposed? You lie. You can't tell me one hotel. You can't tell me one hotel in two months that you've seen me at ever in your life...And find that hotel we f*cked at because you said it was several of them. Nelly Selects Miss AppleBottom 2010 In Netherlands (Photos)

(AllHipHop News) Nelly and his clothing line Apple Bottoms have announced the winner of the 2010 Miss Apple Bottom search in The Netherlands.
Fifteen women competed for the title of “Miss AppleBottoms 2010” in The Netherlands during a fashion show for the 2010 AppleBottom collection.
Model Anna Perret, 18, was unanimously chosen over 14 other girls, who competed in eveningwear, swimsuit and casual wear.
Over 1500 people attending the event, including celebrities, retail buyers, the press and fans of Nelly and the clothing line.
According to representatives for the rapper’s clothing line, Perret was selected because she had the strongest look for the brand.
Perret also won €15.000 in Apple Bottoms clothing and a photo shoot in Paris for an international fashion magazine.

(AllHipHop News) Rappers Nelly and Bow Wow will host their own celebrity basketball game this weekend in Chicago to foster peace and unite in the community. The pair will be on hand with various representatives of Nelly Derrty Ent as well as reps for the Cash Money Millionaires. Nelly’s team will play Bow Wow’s and the losing team will have to donate $100,000 to a charity. The event, which takes place January 31 at the UIC Pavilion on January 31, will also feature Nelly and Bow Wow speaking the students and children during halftime about the importance of education.
Reverend Run of Run-DMC is offering a fan the chance to be married on Valentine’s Day as part of the “Ultimate Rock-N-Roll Wedding.” The Borgata Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City is offering couples to share their love stories, with the grand prize being a wedding officiated by Reverend Run. The winner will receive the “once in a lifetime wedding” on February 14 at the Borgata’s Gypsy Bar. Additionally, the couple will receive “rock star” treatment at The Borgata, a custom cake designed Executive Chef Thaddeus Dubois and an post-celebration at MIXX nightclub for the official Kid Rock concert after party, where Rev Run and DJ Ruckus will perform.
Fabolous will join a number of rappers this weekend as part of Nike’s “Lace Up, Save Lives Concert.” The concert will features performances by Fabolous, Pac Div, Asher Roth, All American Rejects and others. Nike’s “Lace Up, Saves Lives” raises millions by selling specialized (NIKE)RED laces. The proceeds are donated to The Global Fund, which helps fight AIDS in Africa. The concert takes place at The Montalban Theater in Los Angeles from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Admission is $4 with a high school ID.

Rapper Nelly is taking his search for Miss Apple Bottom 2010 international this year.
The Saint Louis, Missouri - born multi-platinum rap artist held a search for Miss Apple Bottoms 2010 at various night clubs from 11 major cities within the Netherlands.
"Over the past few weeks we have received an incredible amount of signups from beautiful potential candidates for the search for Miss Apple Bottoms 2010 The Netherlands,” an Apple Bottoms rep stated. After several intense casting days, the expert panel was finally able to reach a decision.”
Nelly has selected 15 women from the Netherlands, who were selected based on their personality, determination, appearance and runway skills.
Over the next three weeks, visitors to www.missapplebottom.nl will vote for the finalist they think should be crowned Miss Apple Bottoms 2010.
The finals are slated to take place in Amsterdam on January 24, at Club Escape.
The evening will host the final voting rounds for Miss Apple Bottom 2010, in addition to a runway show and a showcase of the Apple Bottoms fall/winter collection for 2011.
